Galeazzo Tonini von Mörl (1922-2011) was born in Innsbruck into a family that dates back to the 11th century. He lived many years in Italy and settled in the Principality of Monaco.
A naval engineering graduate, he enlisted as an officer in the Italian Military Navy. After the war, he became a stylist and creator of designs for the haute couture in the textile field. He was a self-taught to paint in the 60s. By 1980 he was focused fully on improving his artistic talent. He is known for portraits, nudes, still-life, and landscapes. He uses oil, tempera, watercolor and other techiques as he looks at symbolism, surrealism, fantastic and imaginary art forms.
" Symbolism and inner beauty make Galeazzo Von Morl a talent confirmed and much appreciated by art lovers " is how the Maison de L'Amerique Latine de Monaco describes him where he exhibited in 2008.
Important to note, this painting is a tribute to Paul Gauguin's Miraculous Source painting with the upper right portion of the Gauguin work being the inspiration for this painting.
